On Friday, February 20, you will have the opportunity to hear from female East Palo Alto Black leaders who will share their stories of overcoming challenges and what it takes to continue fighting for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. EPACENTER will host the event at 1950 Bay Road, East Palo Alto. The reception will begin at 4:30 p.m., and the program will start at 5:30 p.m. This is a FREE event open to the public. EPA Community Archive, JobTrain, and the City of East Palo Alto are co-sponsors of the event.
On the Shoulders of Giants will honor Rose Jacobs Gibson, 1st African American member of the SMC Board of Supervisors 1999-2013, who will be presented by Lisa Gauthier, SMC Supervisor District 4; Nevida Butler, The Ecumenical Hunger Program, presented by Lakesha Roberts, Associate Director EHP; and Sharifa Wilson, former teacher and former EPA Mayor. The moderator is Dr. Omowale Satterwhite.
