The East Palo Alto Community Archive is raising
$1 million to build our first full team and the
sustainable systems that will ensure East Palo
Alto’s stories are told to future generations.
By East Palo Altoans,
for East Palo Alto
Each time an East Palo Altoan is displaced from our community due to gentrification, East Palo Alto’s history goes with them. For many years, East Palo Alto residents have been worried that the gentrification and changing demographics of the community mean there will come a day when our history will be erased entirely. Future generations deserve to know our stories and the many positive impacts of our communities and their leaders in the Bay Area and beyond.
Created and led by community members, the Archive preserves East Palo Alto’s rich history and creates accessible ways for people to learn about and share our story for generations to come.
More About The ArchiveAfter a highly successful, 2-year, privately funded pilot project period, we are launching this $1M campaign as a seed fund to get EPACA started with the abundance required to build a healthy team and organization. It will see us bring on our first Executive Director, retain our fantastic archival team, and launch many of the programs our community has been asking us for including community education, school partnerships, living cultural arts, and community-uplifting City celebrations.
